AIR CONDITIONING
Air Conditioning service and cleanse – All in one price
What is included in the Hillclimb Air Conditioning Service and Re-Gas?
Before we can carry out your Air Con Service (including an air con re-gas), we check the system for any faults or leaks. The inspection includes:
• A temperature check
• A refrigerant check
• A thorough inspection of the system’s key components, including the compressor (See note below), condenser, drive belts and hoses
• A leak test (using nitrogen)
Once complete, and no faults are evident (which would lead to a faulty Re-Gas Service – or worse) we then perform a full Air Con Re-Gas. We will replace and recharge lubricant and refrigerant levels in line with your manufacturer’s recommendation. We also inject UV Dye, necessary to detect what may be minor leaks even the testing process cannot detect.
NOTE! If we detect an obvious fault, you will not be charged for a Re-Gas at this point – this is a MAJOR difference between Hillclimb and other providers. We will revert the Re-Gas process to an air conditioning system investigation and advise you of corrective action required. The cost of this investigation is less than a Re-Gas. Please call us to discuss your air conditioning requirements and how we can help you keep cool…!

How do I know which air con gas I require?
How do I know if my air con needs recharging?
Manufacturers recommend that your air con is recharged every 2 years. As your car or van air conditioner is not checked as part of your MOT test and regassing is not typically included in your service. It is important to make sure that you include recharging as part of your regular vehicle maintenance routine.
If your AC is blowing out warm air or only works intermittently, an AC recharge can bring back cold air when you need it most on hot days and can also improve your fuel efficiency as there is less strain on the system and engine. Unpleasant smells coming from the air vents also suggest that your air con needs some attention.
One tip that we often find ourselves giving is to continue to use your air con during winter months. This keeps the system lubricated and in working order. This is the reason why most air con failures are at the beginning of summer.
Air conditioning should be maintained every few years and ideally before it fails…. It can take a couple of hours to completely re-gas your car so we advise you leave it with us – remember we can collect your car and then deliver it back to you later the same day for no additional cost.
